Medication Packaging Requirements & Special Consideration
Medication Packaging Requirements
Pennsylvania law requires that only pharmacists or manufacturers dispense medications into labeled containers.
We can only accept medications in the following manner:
- Original pharmacy bottles
- Commercial packaging
- Pharmacy-prepared blister packs or pill packs – Required for children taking multiple medications together
We suggest using Horsham Pharmacy – they are local and will coordinate delivery with Camp Onas’ nursing staff.
Unfortunately we cannot accept:
- Weekly pill organizers
- Zip-top bags
- Loose or unlabeled pills
- Parent-filled containers
- Herbal mixtures without commercial labeling
- Compounded products without pharmacy labeling
If packaging does not meet these standards, the medication must stay home.
