Application Process and Important Dates

We are currently accepting applications from people who were offered (and accepted) positions at Camp Onas in 2020. There are fewer positions available this year than in years past, and we will first consider applications from the staff whose Onas plans were cancelled last year. 

The application process varies by position, so please read the following to see which is most appropriate for you.  If you are unsure which application to use, please email us. We’ll be happy to help!

Camp Aides – Unfortunately, we are not hiring Camp Aides this year. If you’d like to, you can read more about why we made this difficult decision. 

Senior Counselor – 2, 4, 6, or 7 week position (depending on availability) for applicants who are over 18 and have 1 year of full-time work or college experience.

Counselor – 2, 4, 6, or 7 week position (depending on availability) for applicants who were previously offered a position as a JC and do not have 1 year of full-time work or college experience.

Junior Counselor:  2, 4, 6, or 7 week training position (depending on availability).

CITs – CIT jobs will be either 2 or 4 week training positions (depending on interest and availability).

Please note: Applicants who are under 18 (on the date they apply) will need to verify they have a parent or guardian’s permission to apply.

Applicants who were not offered (or did not accept) positions at Camp Onas in 2020 will need to complete a new staff application, which will become available on March 30, if we anticipate there will be positions available. We encourage all applicants who were not lined up to work at Camp Onas in 2020 to make alternate plans.

Applications posted online.
March 102020 Staff who’ve asked for information about summer applications notified by email.
Wednesday, March 26Application deadline – we will consider all applications received by this date at the same time, which is particularly important for determining which sessions staff will work. If we have remaining positions after March 26, we will continue to consider applications until all positions are filled.
March 27-April 5Conversations with applicants about their availability, interests, and preferences.
Week of April 5Application response and (if applicable) Job Acceptance Forms sent via email. (Please check your spam folders and the promotions folder if you use Gmail, it may end up there).
(10 days after an offer is sent) Job Acceptance Forms due back to camp (emailed or uploaded).
Est. April 20Staff Contracts sent to all staff via email.
Tuesday, June 1stPaperwork (health forms, signed contract, training certificates, etc.) completed and submitted via the staff portal.
